About this Model

A parsimonious XGBoost survival:cox model trained on 1,282 post-MI patients (Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, pre-2018), using forward stepwise selection to identify 6 key predictors.

Validated on an independent temporal holdout of 1,314 patients (post-2018), achieving a C-index of 0.829.

Survival probabilities are estimated via the Breslow baseline hazard and recalibrated with isotonic regression at 30-day, 6-month, and 3-year timepoints.

Risk classification (low / moderate / high) is based on 3-year predicted risk tertiles at 5% and 15% thresholds.
